Chögyal Namkhai Norbu

MACO, Arcidosso's Museum of Oriental Art and Culture, has inaugurated the exhibition Sky Writing, the Calligraphic Art of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu in the MACO's Project Space, on the first floor of the former chancellery building in the Aldobrandesco Castle complex in Arcidosso.

Many masters, scholars, and oriental poets, over the centuries, have trained in calligraphy art reaching real forms of high artistic and meditative expression where painting and writing are not separated.

Often in the movement of the shapes of the characters is expressed the nature of the elements such as the flow of water, the movement of clouds, the flight of birds.

In addition, for the first time, documents of very high historical and spiritual value have been exhibited, such as original edicts concerning the spiritual and historical role of Chögyal Namkhai Norbu, written down by the famous scholar Gangkar Choskyi Senge and His Holiness the 16th Karmapa Rigpai Dorje.
